3D Myrian is specialised software for 3-dimensional presentation of medical digital images of all organs and tissues in the human body. It offers a wide range of functionalities and protocols – virtual colonoscopies, blood vessels, liver, lungs and oncology modules. With the help of modern methods for image reconstructions such as MPR (Multiplanar reconstruction) and CRP (Curved Planar Reformation), this software allows reconstruction in non-orthogonal (oblique) planes so that the optimal plane can be selected to display an anatomical structure.
3D Myrian is integrated with the SC PACS Viewer and allows for 2- dimensional and 3-dimensional representation and diagnosis of CT and MR studies. The 2D mode allows us to view:
- Orthogonal MPR images
- Oblique MPRs
- MIP, MinMIP и RaySum images
- CRP images
Different types of templates such as vessels, abdomen, angio, colon, dental, etc are used with the 3D reconstructions. Axial, sagittal and coronal views of the images can be observed.
The 3D mode gives the user to option to process images in a three-dimensional mode, while keeping track of its 2D image at the same time. There are many other functions here such as changing the width and level of the 3D window, visualization of tissues with certain intensity, removal of voluminous areas and removal of materials obstructing the vision of the desired area. There is also the option to perform a flight simulation in the cavities - for example, in examinations enabling virtual coliconoscopy. There are also options for printing, reconstruction export, recording of an image or clip.
3D Myrian is compatible with CT and MR studies from all DICOM devices. There is no minimum threshold of images in a series to generate a 3D image, but it is good to know that the more images available, the more detailed the reconstruction will be.
